I chose to become a counselor because of my passion for the science behind the human mind. I am a fully-Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 13 years of experience in counseling, where I have honed my compassionate, person-centered approach to helping my clients.
When working with clients, I prefer a supportive, collaborative approach to therapy focused on developing goals so clients can discover the ability to cope with stressful situations. My approach helps clients to develop self-awareness and mindfulness, helping them to understand their maladaptive thought patterns so that they can ultimately better ground themselves in the present moment. I usually use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with my clients.
I work primarily with women aged 18 to 50, and my major focus areas are anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and depression.
